[FairNews] The “Global Game Exhibition G-STAR 2014” attended by 617 domestic and international game-related companies from 35 countries, has ended its big four-day run in great success and recorded 200,509 estimated visitors.
The largest ever G-STAR 2014 commemorating its 10th anniversary was held with various attractions, such as additional events for celebrating the 10th anniversary, along with the BTC and BTB exhibitions. In addition, it provided greater satisfaction to visitors with high quality contents and events corresponding to the scale of the exhibition.
The entire hall on the first and third floor of the second exhibition hall in BEXCO was used for the BTB exhibition, and the number of paying buyers set a record at 1,656 buyers which is an increase of 18.5% compared to the previous year. Participants from domestic and international game industries who visited the exhibition selected the BTB exhibition hall of G-STAR as the best game business arena in Asia.
As the second G-STAR conference to be held since last year, 14 sessions discussing the topic of the current state of the game market and marketing strategies were held. In particular, the conference keynote session of the first day (Topic: How to deal with European Games Publisher and Distributors) attracted many participants in the game industry as it reflected the interests of the European market.
In addition, G-STAR and the largest game show in Europe, Gamescom of Germany, signed an MOU in order to carry forward with their strategic cooperative relationship at the G-STAR press room on Friday, November 21st.
At the G-STAR investment market for startups and small and medium-sized developers attended by 65 investors, publishers, and 20 qualifying developers and startups, a presentation of last year’s accomplishments on game investment and publishing was successfully carried out. (In 2013, investment consultations were made for 28 investors and 24 game developers.)
