[Fairnews] Toshiba Corporation’s Semiconductor & Storage Products Company today announced the launch of the world’s first[1] SDHC memory card with built-in NFC (Near Field Communication) functions. Sales of the 8GB, 16GB and 32GB[2] cards will start from February 2015. The new cards will be featured at 2015 International CES, in Las Vegas, U.S.A., from January 6 to January 9. In order to find out what is stored inside SD memory cards, you usually need to put them into PCs or digital cameras. The new product utilizes the features of NFC technology to exchange data simply with a touch. By holding an NFC-enabled AndroidTM smartphone, with the app “Memory Card Preview” [3] installed, over the memory cards lets you preview the available storage space, as well as 16 thumbnails (max.) of the photos stored in the card.

[페어뉴스] 도시바 코퍼레이션(Toshiba Corporation )의 반도체 및 저장장치제품부문은 세계 최초로[1] 근거리 무선통신(NFC)기능을 내장한 SDHC메모리 카드를 출시한다고 오늘 발표했다. 8GB, 16GB 및 32GB
[2] 용량의 메모리 카드는 2015년2월부터 판매할 예정이다. 이들 메모리 카드는 미국 라스베이거스에서 1월 6일부터 9일까지 열리는 2015국제가전제품박람회에서 전시되고 있다.
SD메모리 카드에 저장된 데이터를 알아보기 위해서는 대개 카드를 PC나 디지털 카메라에 꽂아 보아야 한다. 하지만 이 신제품은 NFC 기술을 활용하여 단순히 터치만 하면 데이터를 교환할 수 있다. NFC기능과 ‘메모리 카드 프리뷰’(Memory Card Preview) [3] 앱이 있는 안드로이드 스마트폰을 손에 잡고 메모리 카드를 꽂으면 가용 저장 공간을 미리 알 수 있고 카드에 16개(최대)의 사진 섬네일을 저장할 수 있다.
